There is something extremely special about dogs and sticks. It’s like an unspoken law of nature that whenever a dog sees a stick, they have to play fetch. You pick up a stick, and they immediately assume it’s theirs. When you throw it, and they run to fetch it for you, it’s one of the best feelings for them. The same thing was captured in this video, where a Border Collie failed to understand the concept of a campfire, thinking that the armful of sticks was meant for a game of fetch.

Dog feels confused about the concept of campfires in cute video

This dog felt confused about the concept of campfires and thought that the sticks were for a game of fetch. So when his mom began the camping trip and started gathering sticks, the dog watched intently, thinking it was going to be the biggest fetch session in history. As the video opens, the dog brings a stick to his mom, who is preparing the campfire. He thinks his mom will throw the stick because, from his point of view, this isn’t “collecting firewood.” This is preparation for a fun activity of fetching sticks.

However, he soon becomes disappointed when his mom lights the sticks, starting the bonfire. Soon enough, he realizes that the sticks aren’t for fetch, and his face drops. He makes a grr sound, as if clearly expressing his hurt. Not just that, the lady shared that her fur baby soon enough started micromanaging her work, making sure everything was done in the right manner. As the campfire begins, he looks at his favorite sticks getting burned in horror, trying to understand what is happening.

Viewers found the video highly amusing, flooding the comments section with praise for the dog. One user wrote, “The stages of grief for border collies.” Another commented, “face of horror is my fav.” A third user jokingly said, “Ruining perfectly good fetch sticks.”
